SBTi – Science Based Target initiative
Science-based targets are corporate goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the latest climate science. They help companies to prevent the worst impacts of climate change and future-proof their business growth.
At DENT Instrument, we conducted our first climate screening in 2022. Since then, we have refined our data collection and accuracy and submitted an updated baseline for 2023, including our carbon footprint for the whole value chain. The next step is to set validated targets within the framework of SBT. This will be done within 2024. Then, annually, we will report on our progress toward these goals.
ESG – Environment, Social and Governance
The term ESG was coined by the United Nations in 2005 to measure and codify responsible investment approaches. As part of Bemsiq, we report quarterly on our progress toward our goals in an ESG report. We cover topics such as Energy consumption, GHG emissions, Gender equality, Health and Safety, and Code of Conduct.
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized environmental management systems (EMS) standard. It provides a framework for organizations to design and implement an EMS and continually improve their environmental performance. As part of the Bemsiq group, we are required to be ISO 14001 certified, so we have started that journey.
EPD – Environmental Product Declaration
An EPD is an environmental declaration that quantifies environmental information about a product’s life cycle. This can enable comparisons between products fulfilling the same function. We aim to produce EPDs for our products to work more effectively with our carbon footprint and be transparent to our customers.
